Just Another [Manic] Monday

Manic Monday.  Expected? Yes.  Reality? No.  I should be cramming now.  What gives?

Starting the day late was not a good sign especially on a Monday.  I was even late in clocking in for work.  So I was ready to brace myself for madness.  Not to mention that my bff texted me: “Manic Monday, bring it on…” An all too clear signal of the day to come.

But as I arrived and sat down in my cube – facing the computer, and looking at my to-do list on the side – I’m stumped!  Sure I have couple of things to do but my brain isn’t pestering me to get on with it.

Uh oh.  Not good.  I wouldn’t call it lethargy from yesterday’s activity, but I really am not rushing much yet.  Is something wrong with me?  Could this be the effect of joining a fun run?  Sure my calf muscles are complaining with every step I take but it’s a welcome distraction.  Or did my brain get addled?  Oh I hope not.  It has a few advantages (such as being stress-free), but it wouldn’t do too much good on my career.

I need to shake this off!

Anyway, it’s still too early to tell.  We’ll see as the day progresses.

Enjoy your manic monday!

Manic Monday
The Bangles

Six o’clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin’ Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can’t be late
‘Cause then I guess I just won’t get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It’s just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
‘Cause that’s my funday
My I don’t have to runday
It’s just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn’t make it on time
‘Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I’m gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn’t it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment’s down
He tells me in his bedroom voice
C’mon honey, let’s go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
When you’re having fun
